How to play trivia together online

  1. Open Game Night Show. Start a free room on the website. Guest play is available, or use an account when you want to keep a permanent identity and manage saved boards.
  2. Share the room link or code. Friends open it in their own browsers and join the same room. Use a voice call if you want to chat between questions.
  3. Pick a theme and press Start. Everyone Plays handles question timing, answer checking and scoring. You do not need to appoint a nonplaying host.

If your group already hangs out in Discord, the Discord Activity gives you the same game inside the call.

A game for different kinds of trivia brains

The five free question themes are Party mix, Office friendly, Gaming, Screen & pop culture, and Wordplay. Pick Gaming for a group that knows its favorite games, or choose a broader mix when everybody brings different interests.

Wordplay categories explain their format before the clue. Some ask for rhyming pairs or a title described in an unexpected way, so following the category's rule matters as much as knowing a fact. You get a brief reading period before the answer window opens.

Private answers keep everyone involved

Players rotate the choice of question, but everyone can answer every clue they are eligible to play. Type once, lock in, and wait for the reveal. Answering first does not earn extra points. The checker accepts the approved answers and alternatives for that puzzle; factual names and titles can have more typing assistance than strict word puzzles.

If your answer was reasonable but rejected, you may choose to share it after the reveal for the group's vote. It is your decision to expose that answer. Other players' submissions are not a public answer feed.

Finish the full three-board showdown

Every new match contains three boards and 36 questions. Points increase on each board, and scores accumulate until the final standings. The last board's 300, 600 and 900-point clues can make a comeback count. A replay repeats that match's frozen questions; start a new game for a new selection.

Standard play is free. An optional US$4.99/month Show Pass lets the creator build custom boards with their own questions, alongside pacing and visual extras. Friends can play those rooms without subscribing. For a colleague get-together, see the workplace trivia setup guide.
